Soltesz DC, LLC joined Urban Land Institute (ULI) for a day of community service with City Blossoms in Washington, DC. City Blossoms is a non-profit dedicated to creating safe green spaces for youth living in urban neighborhoods who lack access to fresh and nutritious produce, healthy living habits, and environmental conscientiousness.

Roxana Roman, PE, Managing Member/Chief Engineer of Soltesz DC, LLC is a DC resident and proud member of ULI who is committed to supporting the community in which she lives and works.

Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) recognized 54 businesses for Excellence in the Workplace on June 9, 2017. This event honored the recipients of the 2017 AWE Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval, Health & Wellness Seal of Approval, EcoLeadership Award, and Diversity Champion Award. Over 250 business executives were in attendance from Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Soltesz kicks off summer with a gift to show appreciation for all of the hard work employees have done in the past year. Summer shirts were provided by Soltesz to all employees the week before Memorial Day.

Soltesz is looking forward to an exciting and busy summer. Our employees have stepped up in amazing ways to steward Soltesz's growth.This will shape how we work together and honor the teams' variety of strengths. With our significant projects on the horizon, we look forward to sharing our culture with our new team members.

Soltesz once again celebrated and supported Red Nose Day on May 25, 2017. Red Nose Day aims to end child poverty by raising money and awareness for kids in the United States and around the world. The non-profit Comic Relief uses comedy to raise money for disadvantaged people. 

Jim Soltesz, President and CEO of Soltesz was invited by Governor Hogan to attend the Governor's Business Summit 17 on May 18, 2017 at the Hilton Baltimore. Governor Larry Logan is launching a new economic development strategy focusing on developing the life sciences and cybersecurity industries. A wide array of Maryland's business and educational leaders was in attendance. Attendees explored topics on human capital, global trends, and business strategy. 

Washington Business Journal's "Book of Lists 2017" has once again named Soltesz as one of the Top Landscape Architecture Firms in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Soltesz seeks to infuse every project with a balance between environmental sensitivity, community connection, and economic viability that demonstrates measureable results.

Soltesz employees from the Rockville, Lanham, and Waldorf offices attended a professional development training on April 26, 2017. The training was presented by Mimi Darmstadter, Professional Certified Coach, focused on employee motivation and engagement. Coaching has been invaluable to Soltesz, helping managers with every aspect of work, especially communicating, organizing, and problem solving. The payoff is enormous - both for our company and clients.

2017 marks Soltesz's eleventh appearance on the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) list celebrating workplace excellence and employee engagement. AWE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering employers to build excellence in the workplace as a means of supporting the quality of life for employees, their families, and the community. Soltesz continues to make significant investments in its workplace and its people.

Ten Soltesz team members from the Rockville, Lanham, and Waldorf offices participated in the Clean Water Partnership Earth Day Clean-Up on Saturday, April 22, 2017. This event benefitted the Anacostia River in Prince George's County and in the Washington, DC region. More than 2000 volunteers helped to clean the river, its banks, parks, and trails. Soltesz is committed to making Prince George's County a clean and healthy place to live and visit. High-impact charitable giving and community engagement drives Soltesz at every turn.

Real estate developers, builders, investors, and land developers gathered on April 10, 2017 at Soltesz headquarters in Rockville, Maryland in honor of Greg Slater's new appointment of SHA Administrator by Governor Larry Hogan. Mr. Slater is a 20-year highway professional with experience in both the planning and engineering sides of MDOT. 

"I admire Greg's 'get-it-done' approach," Jim Soltesz, President/CEO of Soltesz said. "His vision for the future of Maryland Transportation is exciting and we all look forward to working with him."
