2017 marks Soltesz's eleventh appearance on the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) list celebrating workplace excellence and employee engagement. AWE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering employers to build excellence in the workplace as a means of supporting the quality of life for employees, their families, and the community. Soltesz continues to make significant investments in its workplace and its people.

Ten Soltesz team members from the Rockville, Lanham, and Waldorf offices participated in the Clean Water Partnership Earth Day Clean-Up on Saturday, April 22, 2017. This event benefitted the Anacostia River in Prince George's County and in the Washington, DC region. More than 2000 volunteers helped to clean the river, its banks, parks, and trails. Soltesz is committed to making Prince George's County a clean and healthy place to live and visit. High-impact charitable giving and community engagement drives Soltesz at every turn.

Real estate developers, builders, investors, and land developers gathered on April 10, 2017 at Soltesz headquarters in Rockville, Maryland in honor of Greg Slater's new appointment of SHA Administrator by Governor Larry Hogan. Mr. Slater is a 20-year highway professional with experience in both the planning and engineering sides of MDOT. 

"I admire Greg's 'get-it-done' approach," Jim Soltesz, President/CEO of Soltesz said. "His vision for the future of Maryland Transportation is exciting and we all look forward to working with him."

Soltesz welcomed new employees on April 6, 2017 with a meet and greet luncheon in our Rockville office. Jim Soltesz, President/CEO, took the time to meet with each new employee and answer any questions. Greg Kirkwood, Senior Vice President/CFO; Kristin Pettit, Director of Human Resources; Bryan McCary, Associate/Director of CAD Operations; Jim Mack, Director of Computer Training; and Maggie Yue, Marketing & Proposal Manager discussed programs, processes, and benefits that Soltesz offers.

Soltesz is honored to be included in Washington Business Journal's latest Book of Lists! Soltesz is once again included in the Washington Business Journal's list of the 25 top engineering firms in the DC Metro area. Our ranking is the result of all the hard work our team puts in everyday, which allows us to continue to grow and see these types of awards.

Jim Soltesz was honored to take part in the 25th anniversary celebration of baseball at Camden Yards with Governor Larry Hogan on April 3, 2017! Baltimore takes great pride in the fact that the Orioles makes its home to one of the best ballparks in the country. Since opening, Camden Yards has served as the standard by which all new ballparks are measured.

Jim is proud to have served as a previous member of the Stadium Authority where he played an integral role in building Camden Yards. He was responsible for the financing and construction of the stadium. 

On April 1st, Soltesz Survey Operations held their Annual Update/Safety Meeting. This company-wide meeting with office and field staff reviews and operations, safety procedures, and new technology. During this year's session, presentations were provided on the company's safety manual, new technology with unmanned aircraft used in survey operations, and an open discussion regarding software, programming, and field operations.

Ken Dunn, Vice President and Managing Member of Soltesz LLC in Lanham, Maryland, served on behalf of the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) at its Annual Prince George’s County Chapter Breakfast event.
