Soltesz provided entitlement, engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services for the new multi-million dollar health care facility designed as a replacement to the 75 year old Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly. Located centrally in Prince George’s County at Largo, the 600,000 sq. ft. hospital consists of primary healthcare and ambulatory care with supporting infrastructure. The hospital is a new 11 story, 177 feet tall, Level II Trauma Center hospital.

Soltesz was initially hand-picked by the County Executive’s office as well and the project management team to assist in the site selection process from the variety of interested sites. This process entailed the review of sites for infrastructure requirements, traffic capacity, location and the ease of access flood concerns, and the use considerations. This process was highly analytical and required considerable finesse when dealing with competing property owners.

Adjacent to a metro station, the site is surrounded by county roads and retail shopping while still being proximate to the Capital Beltway. Soltesz provided full service site/civil engineering including Site Plan and entitlement processing, stormwater management control under new state regulations, road improvements, and permits. The project required Soltesz to work with multiple architectural firms, all of which provided separate specialties, in order to make this project a reality.

This project was completed ahead of schedule, and opened to the public in the summer of 2021.
