Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center
Soltesz is providing engineering, planning and surveying services for the new Washington Adventist Hospital in White Oak, Maryland.
The new hospital is located at the White Oak Science Gateway, adjacent to the FDA Headquarters, which seeks to serve as a new hub for bioscience and healthcare innovation. The new hospital is a result of the relocation of Washington Adventist’s healthcare facility in Takoma Park. Soltesz participated in the study to determine the modification or relocation of the campus to best serve the hospital’s patients and communities and is providing construction administration services during the site and building construction.
The new location is in the Fairland/White Oak section of Montgomery County, Maryland, near the border of Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, and close to major interconnecting roads, enhancing the hospital’s accessibility to its patients and to the community it currently serves. The hospital provides services in cardiology, emergency medical care, maternity, mental health, radiology, and other programs.
The hospital’s modern design focuses on sustainability and innovative healthcare solutions. Landscaping and natural light design techniques are being implemented to create a natural healing environment. In addition to being one of the LEED consultants on the project, Soltesz is responsible for the research and design of LEED-NC credits.
